My future model

Tonight Brian had to work late and it was so beautiful outside, so when I picked Will up from daycare we got supper and headed to the park to eat and play. We walked a path around the park and noticed that there was a couple people taking different pictures. One girl was posing on a bench, which I am hoping was for a senior picture or something but Will was super fascinated by it and just kept watching her. We kept walking and when we got to the next bench Will said "wait mom". Then he proceeded to climb into the bench and started to lie down. I was't so sure what he was doing until he said "picture mom". He was posing just like the girl. I couldn't stop laughing. It was so cute and yet very funny at the same time. Here is the picture of our future model = )

Light the Night & Whisper Walk

This past weekend, I participated in the Light the Night walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on Friday night. There was a great turn out and it was very inspiring. The walkers all carried a balloon with a light in it (red for supporters, gold for in memory, and white for survivors)and had a green light up necklace on. It was great to see all the lights after dark and all the supporters. Here are a few pictures of the event...the pictures really don't do it justice. It was really fabulous. Also, thank you to all of those who sponsored me and donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!

On Sunday, Brian, Will and I participated in the Whisper Walk for ovarian cancer to honor a great lady, Rhonda! Rhonda is the mother to one of my BFFs Shannon. So it was great to join their family for the walk to honor her and then we enjoyed a fabulous BBQ at the Couper's home. Here is a picture of "Team Rhonda".

We are getting closer

Will has been doing awesome with the potty training. On Tuesday, he stayed dry all day at the sitter's house and went to the potty several times. He has had a few accidents here and there but overall he is doing great! We are so very proud of him.

Tonight was the biggest excitement though. He pooped in the big potty!! This is a huge deal since he has been scared to do this. On Sunday, I bought little Toy Story figurines and told him he could open them if he pooped in the potty. Will was so excited but still wouldn't go. So for the last few days Will has been walking around carrying the toys and saying "open if poop in the potty". I was starting to feel a little guilty but tonight he got to open them. I think he was a little shocked when he actually pooped but he was so excited to open his toys and loved all the cheers we gave him!!

Here are a few pictures of a proud little boy with his new toys and with super proud parents!

Fabulous Weekend!

We had a great weekend. To start, Will and I got an invite from Brook on Friday night to go to the balloon fest in OP. It was fantastic! There were around 16 or so hot air balloons tied down and at dusk they started to light them up. Every so often the crowd would count down from 10 and then all the balloons would light up. We got to walk up close to the balloons too. Very cool. Thanks for the invite Brook and for sharing your funnel cake with us = )

Will loved watching all of the balloons but was a little scared of the hot fire. When we got home, Will was so tired and asked me if it was okay to go to bed!

Later Friday night, Grandma Barb and the Turners came to visit. Grandma Barb, Ella, and Claire had a sleep-over at our house. In the morning, the kids played and then we all got ready to go to Deanna Rose Farm while Jami and Erick went to the ISU football game. We had so much fun at the farm!!

Posing on the pumpkin display at the entrance. Unfortunately, I never did get a good picture of the 3 of them but I did try several times! And yes, Ella was the only one looking in all the pictures I took...the other two couldn't hold the pose long enough = )

Cute picture of the 3 kids on the train.

Ella sitting in a desk at the Old School House. She started preschool this year and loves school!

The girls "milking" the cow

The girls riding the horses. Will was too young to ride (have to be 3) so maybe next year. He was excited to watch the girls though.

Bottle feeding the goats. Ella loved this. Will and Claire did for a little while and then decided it would be more fun to wash their hands = )

Dancing along to the music. It was the apple festival there so they had lots of little entertainment areas. The kids had fun dancing!

After the farm, we went to our favorite place Peachwave! Of course, the kids loved the frozen yogurt and Will loved the toppings = ) Then we headed home and Jami came to pick up the girls. Saturday night, Will stayed home and played with Grandma while Brian and I went to a friend's for a poker game. As always it was a great time with friends! And of course, Will had so much fun with Grandma. He woke up this morning and immediately asked where she was! This morning we played some more and had breakfast, then went to meet the Turners to say our good-byes, which is always the saddest part :( We had so much fun though and can't wait until next time.

Will and I then headed home and took a much needed nap. Brian ended up not having to work all day so we all just hung out and watched football. So all in all to was a fabulous weekend that we wish didn't have to end!!

ABC's

As I was reading books to Will before bed tonight, he was looking at his ABC book. He sang the ABC song all the way through and then was looking at the pictures of the letters in the book. He pointed to the "E" and said Eli (a boy at daycare), then when he got to the "N" he said Bubba...nickname for Noah (another boy at daycare) and then he said "where is the W for Will?" He got super excited when he found the "W"! Then I asked him how do you spell Will? He replied, "W i l"! so he missed one "l" but isn't he so smart?!?!

Will is getting so big and is learning so much every day. I just thought I would share this super cute story with everyone! And a big thanks to our sitter for all that she does and teaches Will on a daily basis! = )

Happy Grandparents' Day

Happy Grandparents Day to all of Will's wonderful grandparents!! I tried to get Will to make you all a video but he wasn't really into it today. I said to wish you a Happy Grandparents Day but instead he decided to sing Happy Birthday to me! oh well...he tried. He does love and miss you all! Hope you enjoy the short video = )

Happy Grandparents' Day to Grandma Barb, Papa Jeff, Grandma Linette, and Papa Earl Love, Will

OId Settlers Days

This past weekend was the annual Old Settlers Days celebration in Olathe. They have a parade, carnival ride, craft booths, etc. Since it is pretty close to our house, Saturday morning we rode our bikes up to watch the parade and Will rode some of the rides.
When we got there we ran into Will's friends Noah and Mikayla. Oh and his sitter Ms. Julia. It was fun to watch the parade with them.

Of course, Will was excited to see the fire trucks. Brian attempted to get him excited about the police cars too and explained to him that the police led the parade because the firemen are too scared too. HaHa! Not sure Will was buying that! Will loved waving back to everyone throughout the parade and his favorite part was the bands. He was dancing along with them and was moving his hands to the drum beat.

Oh and Will loved all the candy and prizes he got from the parade too!

After the parade we went to the rides. While Will and I waited for Brian to get the tickets, Will watched other kids riding on them. This one little boy was waving to his mom and blowing her kisses. So when Will got on, that is exactly what he did to Brian and I and a few other random people...it's hard to find mom and dad when you are going around in circles you know?!

Then we decided just to have lunch at home instead of waiting in line for food there. We rode our bikes home, had lunch and then took a much needed nap. All in all it was a great morning and a fun time at the celebrations!

Happy Labor Day!

We had a nice and relaxing Labor day weekend. Brian's family came to visit, which was great. We didn't do much but it was nice to see them. Saturday, Brian smoked chicken and ribs and we just played in the yard. Then Sunday we all went out for breakfast and then went swimming in the hotel pool. Will was being a little daredevil!! He was jumping in the deep end of the pool without his life jacket on...he loved it = ) Then we played some more at the house before they headed home. Will had a great time playing with Grandma, Papa, and Aunt Jen, wish the time didn't go by so fast. Sad to say that I didn't get any pictures!! Guess I will just have to get the ones from Papa when they get developed, which will be in a year or two, right?! = )

Today, we did a little shopping and then went to the Melvins to hang out and grill. Again, a good time and relaxing...except for when Will got super tired and wouldn't stop crying, that wasn't so much fun! It is not good when Will misses his naps during the day. Again...no pictures.

Here are a couple pictures from last Saturday morning. Will came to me with his shoes half way on and said "bye mom". I asked where he was going and he just said "see you later" and got in his car. It was too cute so I had to take a couple pictures!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I will post later to give the update on potty training. He is doing good but I don't want to jinx it just yet = ) So more to come!
