Christmas Tree

We typically get a real tree for Christmas but this year decided to go with an artificial one since we were going to be gone. Will had been super excited about all the lights on the houses and loved seeing the trees decorated in the stores so we for sure had to get something. After the trip to the zoo, we went to the store and purchased a tree (half off) and brought it home to decorate. It is a pre-lit one so no need to worry about lights, which are always a pain for me. Will loved putting on the ornaments. Here are a few pictures to share:

Here he is telling me "no more pictures mom!"

A little explanation on the mix matched ornaments: the Christmas after Brian and I were married we started to buy one ornament for each other and Will joined in on the fun when he was born. We try to find an ornament that illustrates something exciting or eventful that happened that year...sometimes we have to get creative if nothing too exciting has happened. It is a fun tradition though and I hope that we continue it. Unfortunately, I completely forgot this year with everything going on so Will and I don't have ornaments....I may have to order ones online to add!

  1. We've always had an artificial tree. We tried a real tree for a couple years, and while the scent was nice, the branches didn't support our ornaments so they kept sliding off. That was a major pain in the gluteus maximus, so we're sticking with the artificial tree. It's a pain to put up, but it's worth it for keeping the ornaments on there. And I don't know if you remember, but none of our ornaments match each other. It's one big mish-mash of shapes, sizes, and colors (sounds too, in some cases). I love it because it's a tree-shaped scrapbook. Your tree was beautiful. :)
